Glass Frit
Shan and I are getting ready for another Glassblowing session. Can't wait. We love to use bright colors that make people happy. This picture is an example of what we use for color in each of our pieces. We use Kuglar bar, and chop each piece really small. Bar versus powder color is more vibrant and solid. Powders tend to be more translucent. Just a quick lesson on glass color for ya.

View of the vines
While Jen was in Mexico, I was in Northern California visiting my sweet friends who took me wine tasting at some fun wineries in Livermore. The wine was delightful. So was the company.
Here is a view from the tasting room window. So beautiful and peaceful.
Where there is good wine there is a coming together and life is celebrated and enjoyed fully and richly. What could we be without wine?

In the market for a new house?
Ok, so I visit my family in Mexico for the past for days, and I saw this house being constructed and thought "WHAT IN THE WORLD" or "WHOSE THE CREEP THAT LIVES IN THAT PLACE". I think my homeowners association would send me a letter if I did that to my house. I can't even paint my house without asking for permission. Only in Mexico could you get away with something like this. I didn't get to drink my wine, but I did have a great shot of gin with lime. Yum. Check out my other blog for more Mexico pics at http://jennydraws.blogspot.com

On the Bench
Shannon on the bench starting to make the blown little peep (the one on our banner). I already have started the bubble and now am shaping it with a wooden mold called a block. In the summer it gets a bit hot so its nice to do these small pieces. Jen and I work as a team, cant fly solo in glassblowing. So we take turns on the bench and help each other. We blow glass at Nottingham Center of the Arts http://www.nottinghamarts.org/ In Southern California. Notice the wall behind me has some pictures of fellow glass blowers who work in this studio as well, our favorites being Michael and Gina who work as a team. www.hermannlunnglass.com/
Had so much fun making the peeps. We love how cute they turned out.
